Our careers framework is linked to the Gatsby Benchmarks, Local Enterprise Partnerships and ACEG framework. All students from Year 7 through to Year 11 are exposed to the many aspects of careers work undertaken here at 精东影业 and includes a Year 7-11 Tutor program as well as assemblies which include aspects of careers, enterprise and employability, national awareness days and themed weeks including national careers and apprenticeships week.
We also work with Warwickshire and Coventry LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) to help deliver a vast range of exciting activities during the school year, which inspires students, develops their soft skills and give our students a great exposure to the world of work. The activities range from employer talks, careers fairs, College and University visits, motivational speakers plus much more.
Each year the activities can vary depending on new schemes and initiatives which are introduced.

The trade roles candidates have to be a minimum of 16 years and 6 months on the day of intake with the upper age limit of 17 years 4 months and 30 days. With the exception of the RLC Driver (Highlighted- which is 16 years and 3 months on date of intake with the same upper age limit)

YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE
We are committed to offering all Year 10 students an opportunity to take part in a one-week work experience placement. Such an experience offers many benefits and helps to promote the careers programme and employability skills. Year 10 Work Experience usually takes place in July.
What is Work Experience?
A placement on employer premises in which a student carries out a particular task or duty, or range of tasks or duties, as would an employee, but with the emphasis on the learning aspects of the experience.
Why Do I Need to Go on Work Experience?
- To discover more about the 鈥榳orld of work鈥�
- Opportunity to gain insight into a particular working environment.
- To develop important work-related skills
- To build confidence and independence
- Experience working with adults and as part of a team.
- Work Experience looks good to future employers on your CV.
- Adding relevance to your coursework
- Can lead to a full-time position.
All Year 10 students will be given guidance on the procedures and preparation for work experience during tutor and work experience lessons. We encourage students to find their own work experience placements. We would recommend they contact companies to secure a placement in an area they are interested in and that reflects their ability and aptitude. It is vital that students consider this carefully to find the most beneficial placement. Students should make such contact under the guidance of an adult, either at home or in school. We recommend students using their school email address and not contacting individuals on social media.
We use a platform called Unifrog to support the Work Experience process. Students will source their own placements and once agreed, all the information will be entered onto Unifrog.

A reminder that It is important when you source your own placement that you ask the employer to confirm that they have a current Employer鈥檚 Liability Insurance Policy, this is in place to ensure that your child is fully protected whilst on placement.

EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT
We are always open to Employers visiting the school to give career talks during assemblies and small group work activities. We invite local and national employers to attend our Career Fairs.
