Jake Whitehead- Winmau Junior World Masters Qualifiers

Jake played in the Winmau Junior World Masters Qualifiers in Bristol over the weekend.

He finished ranked 5th place out of 84 competitors after all 4 events. Jake reached a semi final, a quarter final, and the round of 16 twice. This means he has qualified for the Winmau Junior World Masters on 31st January in Aylesbury.

He played against the Junior World Number 2, Kaya Baysal, and went 1-0 up in sets, and 1-0 up in legs too! Kaya came back to win 2-1, but Jake pushed him all the way.

The world number 1, widely regarded as the next Luke Littler. Mitchell Lawrie, was in the tournament too. Jake didn’t get to play against him, but Mitchell was the scorer during one of Jake’s matches.

We are seeking sponsors to help Jake to compete at the highest level in the JDC (such as Q School and JDC Foundation Tour) as he definitely has the ability to compete at that level. If anyone is interested in getting involved, please get in touch with the school office who will pass on my contact details.

Ian Whitehead, Jake’s Dad.
