Big Ideas National Final

On Wednesday 2nd July, ‘The Global Masters’ represented the school at the National Final of the Big Ideas competition at the Palace of Westminster, London. We had a guided tour around the Houses of Parliament and had a walk past 10 Downing St and Trafalgar Sq. They even met their MP, Rachael Taylor, who gave them some advice and wished them well as representative from their constituency. Despite not winning the final, they achieved a special judges commendation award for the Big Idea of a snow machine to help combat the effective of climate change in the Artic to help prevent the extinction of polar animals. The students were truly remarkable ambassadors of ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and the enormous effort they put into the development of their Big Idea really shone through. Even with a hefty 2-hour delay in trains on the way home making a long day extra long, the students’ resilience, personality and good humour remained extraordinary. They have even asked to be ambassadors should we continue the Big Ideas programme next year! So, from me a big thank you to Phidelis, Eden, Hannah and Alexi-Grace.
